Bridge351 seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Malmö-based team. You will design and build backend services and APIs with Node.js and/or Java, owning integrations behind the planning tools used across the organization.

You will own CI/CD pipelines, work with REST/OpenAPI interfaces, and collaborate with product, business and UX teams. Experience with 3D rendering tools is a plus.

About the project
We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a global home-furnishing retailer. You’ll work in the team that builds the planning tools used by 8,000+ coworkers in stores worldwide to design how customers experience their physical stores.

You’ll help build a user-friendly, production-ready planning entry point and own the integrations behind it. You’ll work closely with product, business and UX teams.

What you’ll do

• You will design and build backend services and APIs with Node.js and/or Java
• You will develop and consume REST / OpenAPI services and integrate several internal tools
• You will build on the architecture that’s already in place and help keep it clean and scalable
• You will own CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• You will work with 3D rendering services and reusable business-rule engines

What we’re looking for

• Senior experience in Node.js or Java backend development
• Strong experience designing APIs with OpenAPI / REST
• Hands-on DevOps and CI/CD experience
• A solid understanding of how information flows between systems
• Familiarity with component-driven UI and design systems
• Experience with AI-assisted / spec-driven development
• Fluent English

Nice to have

• AI / MCP integrations
• 3D visualisation (Three.js, React Three Fiber, Autodesk APS)
• Full-stack skills, headless CMS and dynamic page rendering
• Event-driven architecture and observability tools
• Background in retail or commercial planning
