Job summary

Miniclip is seeking a Backend Developer in Lisbon, Portugal, to join the Games Development Studio. You will contribute to the multiplayer mobile game backend and infrastructure for tens of millions of users, in a hybrid full-time role with an agile team.

You’ll design, develop, maintain, and operate robust back-end systems, evaluate new tools, and help migrate legacy systems, while collaborating with frontend, QA, release managers, and others to deliver engaging game content and campaigns.

Qualifications

• Experience developing networked back-end/server systems in UNIX/Linux/POSIX environments.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Java, Go, Erlang, Elixir or PHP.
• Experience managing high-capacity web servers and migrations of legacy systems.
• Strong English communication and willingness to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and operate scalable back-end systems using in-house tech.
• Evaluate tools and approaches to meet technical challenges.
• Manage migrations of legacy systems.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary agile Scrum team on game modes and events.
• Support feature development and bug resolution across internal systems.
• Participate in team activities to brainstorm new content and campaigns.
