Jobgether is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer, Core APIs (SRE Focus) based in Portugal for a fully remote, globally distributed team. You will build and operate highly reliable backend services with emphasis on performance, latency, and cost.

You’ll define SLIs/SLOs, monitor observability, automate operations, and guide incident response while scaling systems for growing demand. mentoring across the team is encouraged.

Qualificações

• 5+ years backend experience operating production systems.
• Experience with SRE practices including error budgets and capacity planning.
• Go and/or Node.js expertise with willingness to learn the other.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Production workloads with Docker and Kubernetes.
• IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Observability platforms like Datadog and related tooling.
• SQL skills with DynamoDB/Redis/Elasticsearch or similar databases.
• Git, shell scripting, CI/CD, and standard software practices.
• Distributed systems knowledge, scalability, reliability, and performance.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and optimize backend services for real-time data processing and APIs.
• Define and own SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for core APIs.
• Build observability with metrics, logs, tracing, dashboards, and alerts.
• Participate in on-call rotations and conduct post-incident reviews.
• Automate operational processes and reduce toil.
• Conduct capacity planning, load testing, and performance tuning.
• Investigate production issues and translate findings into improvements.
• Collaborate across teams to maintain performance and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical standards across the org.
