Senior Backend Developer

Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of application development within an agile Software Development Team.
• Guide and mentor a team on large pieces of work spanning multiple components and teams.
• Act as the go‑to expert for technical decisions, problem‑solving and new ideas.
• Design, develop and improve technical solutions and processes.
• Write well‑designed, testable, efficient code to meet business needs.
• Test solutions and produce comprehensive documentation.
• Utilise cutting‑edge technologies to deliver value while scaling the platform for worldwide markets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Java (Java8+) or a similar object‑oriented language.
• Strong background in high concurrency, high transactional, highly available platforms.
• Experience with client‑server protocols such as SOAP and REST.
• Expertise in established design patterns and reusability techniques (e.g., library extraction, component creation).
• Working knowledge of Scala, Kafka, Akka, Memcached, ApacheStorm, ApacheCassandra, Zookeeper, RabbitMQ and related technologies.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English; excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to drive technical discussions and guide junior team members toward growth.
