Blip is a leading tech company focused on software engineering solutions for sports entertainment. We operate at scale as part of Flutter Entertainment, supporting online sports betting and iGaming for millions of customers worldwide.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will join an Agile team to investigate production issues, maintain core systems, and define SLOs. You will contribute to planning our technology stack and building tools to improve efficiency and reliability.

Qualificações

• Extensive experience managing production systems and ensuring high availability.
• Strong scripting and automation skills; proficiency with Python/Go/Ruby/Scala is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/OpenStack) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and incident response in large-scale environments.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in Agile teams.

Responsabilidades

• Investigate and resolve production issues and root causes.
• Maintain, improve, and troubleshoot core systems used by multiple teams (Kafka, Zookeeper, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, ActiveMQ, Brooklin).
• Define and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and improve monitoring/alerting.
• Reduce toil and automate repetitive tasks; enhance system resilience and reliability.
• Develop tools to streamline team workflows and support planning of the tech stack.

The Role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will take active part in the production problem root cause investigation, identification, and resolution. You will be a Team player on an Agile team, working together to keep delivering at pace, scale and with demanded quality to support our products.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Take active part in the production problem root cause investigation, identification, and resolution (where necessary);
• Maintain, improve and troubleshoot our core systems used by several teams, some of those are Kafka, Zookeeper, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, ActiveMQ, Brooklin, etc.;
• Preventive monitoring;
• Define, implement and maintain Service Level Objectives (SLOs)
• Iteratively improve monitoring & alerting
• Reduce Toil;
• Reduce or eliminate manual/repetitive tasks
• Improving the resilience and reliability of the systems to reduce or eliminate manual intervention on service recovery
• Design, develop and/or implement tools that will help the team(s) to perform their work more efficiently;
• Contribute to planning and development of our technological stack.

What You'll Bring

• Familiar with SRE and DevOps methodologies
• Good Linux systems administration & Networking knowledge
• Experience on configuration management tools like Ansible or Chef
• Ability to debug and optimize code on at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Golang, Ruby or Scala
• Familiar with CD/CI pipelines comprising Jenkins, Git, Artifactory, Go, Ansible, and more
• Technical experience in managing a highly available and highly scalable public /private cloud environment (e.g. AWS, OpenStack, Azure)
• Nice to have hands-on knowledge of container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Openshift);
• Ability to interact effectively with other functional teams;
• Excellent communicator, common sense and a passion for the art of problem-solving.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills
