Job summary

Luza Group is seeking a seasoned AWS/Redshift Database Administrator to monitor, tune, and maintain Redshift clusters in Porto, Portugal. You will manage WLM queues, run VACUUM/ANALYZE on large tables, and handle incidents with cross-functional teams and executives.

The role requires strong DBA experience across at least one other RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and availability for on-call rotations, including Saturdays. Remote work may be possible where appropriate.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator focused on AWS database services.
• Expert-level Amazon Redshift administration including cluster management, distribution and sort key strategy, WLM queue configuration, VACUUM and ANALYZE on large-scale tables and performance diagnostics.
• Operational DBA experience in at least one other RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server).
• On-call rotation and weekend production window availability after onboarding.
• Experience with both on-premises and AWS environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Redshift cluster health, performance, and resource utilization daily.
• Tune and manage WLM queues to isolate workloads.
• Execute VACUUM and ANALYZE for large tables in production windows.
• Diagnose performance issues using system views and CloudWatch metrics.
• Participate in war room calls with stakeholders and senior mgmt.
• Cover on-call across the full database stack, including other RDBMS.
• Plan production and disaster recovery activities during maintenance windows.
• Provide advisory architectural guidance to development and DevOps teams.
