The role emphasizes hands-on software development in Rust and Python and collaboration with cross-functional teams across Europe.

The position is based in Tagus Park, Portugal, with a hybrid work model (3 days on-site).

Qualifications

• Strong background in mathematical optimization, algorithms, or operations research.
• Production-grade software development in Rust and/or Python.
• Knowledge of scheduling, routing, optimization, logistics, or autonomous systems.
• Ability to translate complex mathematical models into robust, scalable software.
• Passion for solving challenging real-world engineering problems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement optimization algorithms for AMR fleet scheduling and allocation.
• Develop high-performance solutions using Rust and/or Python.
• Build intelligent scheduling and routing considering routes, priorities, and constraints.
• Create predictive planning models for heterogeneous robot fleets.
• Optimize execution plans, travel times, and fleet performance from data.
• Collaborate with Backend, Robotics, Product, QA, Simulation, and Fleet teams.
