Job summary

Sidel in Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal, seeks a Senior Accountant to bridge financial insight and action. You will support tax compliance, controlling, reporting and internal controls within the Finance team under the Finance Manager’s coordination.

The role requires a Master’s degree and at least five years in accounting or audit, with strong English and a collaborative mindset to strengthen processes and cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum five years’ accounting or audit experience in the country of the legal entity.
• Strong knowledge of tax compliance, internal controls and financial reporting.
• Able to handle complex, non-routine matters and provide clear analyses.
• Fluent in English and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate tax compliance activities, MEC and internal controls.
• Independently manage complex finance activities including tax management, controlling and reporting.
• Address non-routine finance issues with the Finance Manager, bringing clear analysis and practical solutions.
• Advise functional and operational managers on financial implications to support decisions and action plans.
• Coordinate and deliver cross-functional finance projects that address shared challenges and improve efficiency.
• Coach experienced finance colleagues, sharing expertise to strengthen processes, procedures, tools and ways of working.

Working within the Finance team and under the coordination of the Finance Manager, you’ll contribute across finance activities, including tax compliance, controlling, reporting and internal controls.

Your Mission

• Coordinate tax compliance activities, MEC and internal controls, helping maintain robust and reliable financial processes.
• Independently manage complex finance activities, including tax management, financial and budgetary controlling, and reporting.
• Address non-routine finance issues with the Finance Manager, bringing clear analysis and practical solutions.

Your Profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least five years’ experience in accounting or audit in the country of the legal entity; contract-manufacturing experience is an advantage.
• Sound knowledge of tax compliance, internal controls, controlling and financial reporting.
• Able to handle complex, non-routine matters and turn financial analysis into clear advice.
• Collaborative coach who enjoys helping colleagues solve problems and improve how work gets done.
