Job summary

Street Smash Burgers, Lisbon-based growth brand, is seeking an Accountant to reinforce our Portuguese company (The Food Chapter). You will manage books in Business Central, ensuring complete, accurate records and timely closes, collaborating with our Portugal accountant.

You will handle journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany activities, and data for tax obligations, while supporting audits and driving process automation across our multi-entity setup.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in general accounting.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Professional working proficiency in Portuguese and English.
• Interest in automation and AI tools to improve processes.
• Experience with intercompany accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run general accounting in Business Central: journal entries, supplier and customer accounts, fixed assets.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual closes: accruals, prepayments, depreciation and provisions.
• Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts.
• Account for and reconcile store revenue: POS, Glovo, cards and meal vouchers.
• Post and reconcile intercompany entries with other group entities.
• Prepare data for tax obligations (VAT, SAF-T, withholding, IES/IRC).
• Support audits and financial statements, document processes and spot tasks to automate.
• Support the accounting of Spanish and Swiss entities.

The role

You’ll reinforce the accounting of our Portuguese company (The Food Chapter), working side by side with our Portugal accountant. Your mission: books that are complete, accurate and closed on time in Business Central.

What you’ll do

Who we’re looking for

Must-have

• At least 6 months of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• 2+ years of experience in general accounting
• Solid knowledge of SNC and Portuguese tax obligations
• Strong Excel skills
• Professional working proficiency in Portuguese and English
• Interest in automation and AI tools to improve processes

Nice-to-have

• Experience in multi-entity environments
• Experience in retail or hospitality
