Job summary

Syngenta in Beja, Portugal, seeks an onsite Field Production Specialist to support safe, high-quality seed production across the assigned growing area. You will coordinate field activities, manage growers and service providers, collect production data and report insights to ensure quality and compliance.

In this role you’ll cover for the Field Production Agronomist during peak periods, collaborate with SPR services, and organize field teams for inspections and improvements in a dynamic outdoor

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of agronomy and seed production for extensive field crops.
• Experience in seed field production or agricultural production with growers and dispersed areas.
• Understanding of safe working practices, production records, traceability and data collection.
• Ability to coordinate field activities with growers, seasonal labour, service providers and internal teams.
• Strong planning, communication and teamwork in a dynamic outdoor environment.
• Able to communicate in English and/or French.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned growing area during the production season.

Responsibilities

• Support farm and grower prospecting, negotiations and relationship management.
• Follow up on planting and production instructions in collaboration with Field Production Manager.
• Collect field and production data and prepare accurate reports.
• Coordinate and supervise field production team members in the area.
