Job summary

Itaú Europe is seeking a Securities Settlements Analyst to join our Custody team in Lisbon on a 6-month fixed-term contract (maternity leave cover). You will ensure timely settlements by booking and monitoring security transactions against payment, and you will handle reconciliations and broker inquiries.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in Banking, strong Excel and Access skills, and English fluency. This role offers an international, fast-paced environment with development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Book and monitor of security transactions against payment to ensure the timely settlements.

• Transfer client positions free of payment (incoming and outgoing).
• Check and repair rejected SWIFT instructions; Cash management of custodian balances.

We are looking for a Securities Settlements Analyst to join our Custody team in Lisbon on a 6-month fixed-term contract (maternity leave cover), playing a key role in ensuring continuity of Settlements operations.

What does the Operations area do?

It provides service excellence in operations focusing on client needs. We do this by ensuring best practices of execution on services related to Funds, Cash/Securities Management and Settlements, Payments, Reconciliation, and Control of Credit Operational Business, as well as Account Maintenance documentation.

What would be your key responsibilities?

• Book and monitor of security transactions against payment to ensure the timely settlements;
• Monitoring of cancellations and corrections of transactions;

What are we looking for?

Requirements:

• 1 to 3 years of experience in Banking;
• Proficiency in Excel and Access;
• Fluency in English.

Nice to have:

• 1 to 3 years of experience in settlement of equities and debt securities;
• Knowledge of securities settlement and trade processing (equities and fixed income) across markets;
• Understanding of financial products and their respective settlement processes;
• Experience with reconciliation, investigations, and trade/security transfer controls;
• Familiarity with Security and Counterparty Master Data Management;
• Ability to analyse SWIFT messages, particularly MT54x formats.
