St. Peter’s International School is seeking a proactive Science Laboratory Technician (0.5 FTE) to support practical Science lessons across the school on a freelance basis (recibos verdes).

This role is ideal for a recent Science graduate or someone exploring a career in education, offering valuable experience in an international school setting while supporting students and teachers. You will prepare and set up equipment, assist during labs, and help maintain safe, well-organised laboratories.

Qualificações

• Degree in a Science-related field (or near completion)
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Interest in working with young people and education
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent communication and a positive, flexible approach
• Previous laboratory or school experience is desirable but not essential
• Good command of English and Portuguese

Responsabilidades

• Laboratory preparation and setup for Science practical lessons
• Assist teachers during laboratory activities as needed
• Maintain clean, organised laboratories and ensure readiness for teaching and learning
• Support health, safety, and stock management in the laboratory
• Monitor and manage equipment, consumables, and safe storage of materials
• Collaborate with Science teachers and participate in science-related events and activities

The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive and organised Science Laboratory Technician to support the delivery of practical Science lessons across the school. This is a part‑time (0.5 FTE) position, engaged on a freelance basis through green receipts (recibos verdes).

This role is ideal for a recent Science graduate or someone considering a future career in education. It offers valuable experience working in a vibrant international school environment while supporting students and teachers in developing their scientific skills and knowledge.

Laboratory Preparation and Support

• Prepare and set up equipment, materials, and resources for Science practical lessons.
• Assist teachers during laboratory activities when required.
• Ensure laboratories are clean, organised, and ready for teaching and learning.

Health, Safety, and Resource Management

• Maintain safe working practices in accordance with school health and safety procedures.
• Monitor and manage laboratory stock, equipment, and consumables.
• Support the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and materials.
• Report maintenance, safety, or equipment issues promptly.

School and Team Collaboration

• Work closely with Science teachers to support effective lesson delivery.
• Assist with science-related events, projects, and extracurricular activities.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community and uphold school safeguarding expectations.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• A degree in a Science‑related field (or be close to completing one).
