Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a SCADA System Engineer to design, develop and implement SCADA solutions for automated intralogistics and industrial systems. You will configure Ignition, design HMIs and integrate with PLCs, MES, WMS and ERP while ensuring cybersecurity and project compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Informatics, Electronics or related fields.
• Proven experience in SCADA engineering, including system design, development, testing and commissioning.
• Hands-on experience with Ignition (Inductive Automation).
• Strong knowledge of HMI design principles and industrial visualization systems.
• Experience integrating SCADA platforms with PLCs and industrial control systems.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus TCP/IP, Profinet, Ethernet/IP or similar.
• Experience with SQL databases, data modelling and industrial reporting solutions.
• Familiarity with industrial networks, client-server architectures and cybersecurity best practices.
• Experience executing FAT, SAT and on-site commissioning activities.
• Ability to analyse complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary and international project environments.
• Fluent English; additional languages are considered an advantage.
• Ignition Core Certification, Gold Certification or equivalent SCADA certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define subsystem architecture, technical specifications and detailed engineering documentation for SCADA applications.
• Develop, configure and maintain SCADA platforms, including Ignition (Inductive Automation) and other industry-standard solutions.
• Design and implement HMI applications.
• Integrate SCADA systems with PLCs, MES, WMS, ERP and third-party subsystems through industrial communication protocols.
• Define and manage subsystem technical requirements, ensuring compliance with project, operational and customer specifications.
• Act as the technical focal point for SCADA-related matters, ensuring alignment between subsystem interfaces and overall solution architecture.
• Assemble, test and validate SCADA solutions to ensure compliance with functional, performance and cybersecurity requirements.
• Participate in FAT, SAT, field testing and commissioning activities.
• Support installation, startup and troubleshooting activities at customer sites.
• Optimize solutions considering technical performance, project schedules, costs and associated risks.
• Manage configuration control and ensure proper version management throughout the project lifecycle.

What We're Looking For
