You have the opportunity to join our team and tackle business challenges in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment characterized by close collaboration with business stakeholders.
As an SAP Enterprise Architect Supply Chain, you will define and govern the target architecture for the end-to-end supply chain landscape of a global market leader in chemical and ingredients distribution, operating across dozens of countries and serving hundreds of thousands of customers worldwide. You will ensure that planning, procurement, inventory, warehousing, transportation, order fulfillment, logistics, master data, integration, and analytics capabilities form a coherent, scalable, and secure enterprise solution, supporting both distribution and production in pharma and life sciences.
As part of an ongoing SAP S/4HANA transformation, you will act as the enterprise architecture authority for supply chain. The landscape is built on SAP S/4HANA as the core, combined with specialized applications such as SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), SAP Transportation Management (TM), SAP Digital Manufacturing, and MaintainX, while Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning is being developed on an AWS data platform. You will translate business strategy into architecture roadmaps, principles, standards, and investment decisions, working with supply chain leadership, business process owners, domain and solution architects, security and data specialists, and implementation partners in line with SAP Clean Core principles.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Architecture Authority & Governance: Act as the enterprise architecture authority for supply chain across transformation, rollout, and continuous-improvement initiatives. Govern solution designs across SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain and related domains, facilitate architecture reviews, challenge proposed designs constructively, and elevate decisions affecting enterprise standards or the target architecture.
- Target Architecture & Roadmaps: Define target-state architecture, multi-year roadmaps, principles, reference architectures, and guardrails for supply chain capabilities. Partner with supply chain leadership and process owners to translate strategic priorities into actionable architecture roadmaps and capability improvements.
- Cross-Domain Architecture Decisions: Lead architecture decisions spanning planning, procurement, inventory, warehousing, transportation, order fulfillment, logistics, data, reporting, security, and surrounding applications. Assess business demand, design alternatives, dependencies, risks, technical debt, and end-to-end impacts to guide investment and delivery decisions.
- Integration & Data Architecture: Ensure coherent integration between SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain and adjacent platforms, including finance, sales, procurement, SAP EWM, transportation management, planning, the AWS data platform, customer and supplier platforms, and external logistics services, based on enterprise integration patterns, API management, and event-based architecture.
- Architecture Artifacts: Establish and maintain capability maps, process and application landscapes, integration patterns, roadmaps, architecture diagrams, and architecture decision records.
- Delivery Guidance & Standardization: Guide solution architects, functional teams, and implementation partners through design, delivery, testing, deployment, and lifecycle management. Promote reuse, standardization, data quality, security, compliance, and sustainable operating models across the supply chain landscape.
Your Skills and Experiences:
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, supply chain architecture, SAP consulting, transformation delivery, or technology leadership.
- Proven experience defining enterprise architecture and leading complex SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain transformation, implementation, or rollout programs.
- Deep knowledge of SAP S/4HANA in combination with SAP Transportation Management (TM), SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), and SAP Digital Manufacturing, including procurement, inventory management, order fulfillment, and logistics processes.
- Deep understanding of supply chain processes, ERP capabilities, master data, reporting, and governance, and of the dependencies between SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain and other SAP and non-SAP applications.
- Demonstrated ability to develop target architectures, multi-year roadmaps, architecture principles, and actionable transition plans, and to govern functional and technical designs across multiple domains.
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, API management, and event-based architecture across sales, finance, warehouse management, transportation management, planning, and master data.
- Experience applying SAP Clean Core, fit-to-standard, cloud, integration, security, and data-architecture principles.
- Experience with global supply chain template design, harmonization, localization, and rollout in a multinational organization.
- Good knowledge of Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (S&OP), including solutions built on a cloud data platform, and familiarity with cloud platforms (mainly AWS) and data architecture principles.
- Experience with Master Data Management (MDM), Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S), and Operational Technology (OT) is a plus.
- Experience with enterprise architecture and delivery tools such as LeanIX, SAP Cloud ALM, Jira, and Confluence is a plus.
- Experience in chemical distribution or a comparable process industry is an advantage.
- Ability to assess design alternatives and communicate strategic, business, risk, and delivery implications clearly to executive, business, and technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to collaborate across countries, functions, and time zones.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for project workshops and key delivery activities.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential; German is a plus.
