Job summary

Volkswagen Group Digital Solutions [Portugal] is seeking an experienced SAP BI specialist to design, develop, and maintain BI solutions within the SAP data and analytics landscape. You will translate business needs into scalable SAP BW data models, data flows, and ETL processes.

You will contribute to moving BW toward SAP Datasphere and SAC, support migrations, and collaborate with global teams to deliver reliable reporting, dashboards, and planning solutions with strong data quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 3–6 years of professional SAP BW experience, preferably BW on HANA or BW/4HANA.
• Hands-on experience designing data models, data flows, transformations, and ETL in SAP BW.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions in SAP data/analytics landscape.
• Translating business requirements into scalable BI solutions.
• Developing data models, data flows, and transformations in SAP BW.
• Evolving BW landscape toward SAP Datasphere and cloud-based solutions.

You’ll be focused in

• Understanding business requirements and translating them into reliable, scalable, and maintainable BI solutions.
• Designing and developing data models, data flows, transformations, and routines in SAP BW.
• Contributing to the evolution of the current SAP BW landscape toward modern cloud-based solutions, particularly SAP Datasphere.
• Supporting the migration and redesign of existing BW applications, identifying suitable approaches for the future data platform.
• Contributing to reporting, dashboarding, and planning solutions using SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Ensuring data quality and supporting the analysis and resolution of issues across data integration and reporting processes.
• Collaborating with business stakeholders, functional experts, and technical teams in an international environment.
• Providing effort estimations and contributing to technical solution design and continuous improvement.
• Taking ownership of assigned topics while actively building knowledge in emerging SAP data and analytics technologies.

In order to succeed, you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or comparable professional experience.
• Around 3–6 years of professional experience working with SAP BW, preferably SAP BW on HANA or BW/4HANA.
• Hands‑on experience designing and implementing data models, data flows, transformations, and ETL processes in SAP BW.
• Experience integrating SAP source systems, such as SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA, into BI solutions.
• The ability to understand business needs and translate them into appropriate technical solutions.
• Working knowledge of ABAP, SQL, or other relevant technologies used in data modeling and transformation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues independently.
• Good communication skills and professional proficiency in English.
• A proactive and collaborative mindset, with the willingness to take initiative, share knowledge, and continuously learn.
• Genuine motivation to develop toward SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, and the future SAP data landscape.

Nice to have

• Practical exposure to SAP Datasphere, even though initial implementations, migration activities, training, or proof‑of‑concept work.
• Experience creating reports, dashboards, or planning solutions in SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Familiarity with SAP BW/4HANA concepts and migration or modernization initiatives.
• Exposure to SAP Integrated Planning, BPC, or other planning solutions.
• Understanding of roles and authorizations within SAP BW, Datasphere, or SAC.
• Experience working in cross‑functional, agile, or international teams.
