Körber Pharma Packaging AG is seeking a Sales Engineer in Porto area to translate customer requirements into competitive, technically sound and commercially viable solutions. You will work with customers, Sales, Engineering and suppliers to analyse needs and develop solution concepts, maximizing standard solutions while assessing customisation impacts.

You will prepare proposals, review BOMs, and coordinate clarifications, ensuring accurate technical documentation and smooth handover post-order.

Qualificações

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrotechnical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Automation, or related technical field.
• 2–3 years in a similar technical role in material handling or automation.
• Experience in application/proposal engineering or technical sales support.
• Ability to review layouts, BOMs and engineering docs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with customer focus.
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Analyse customer requirements, RFQs, layouts, and specs against product portfolio.
• Design optimized equipment configurations and cost-impact of customisations.
• Identify risks and opportunities to improve performance and cost-efficiency.
• Review BOMs and equipment lists to spot gaps or risks.

• Prepare technical documentation and quotations for proposed solutions.
• Support project handover with key technical information for teams.

We are looking for a Sales Engineeryou will play a key role in translating customer requirements into competitive, technically sound and commercially viable solutions.

You will work closely with customers, Sales, Engineering and suppliers to analyse requirements, develop solution concepts and prepare technical-commercial proposals, maximising the use of standard solutions while identifying and assessing the impact of required customisations.

Your role in our team

• You will analyse customer requirements, RFQs, layouts and technical specifications, assessing the suitability of proposed concepts against the Product Solutions portfolio.
• You will develop competitive technical-commercial proposals by designing optimised equipment configurations, maximising the use of standard solutions and assessing the cost impact of customisations.
• You will identify technical inconsistencies, risks and opportunities for optimisation, proposing modifications that improve performance, manufacturability, cost-efficiency and maintainability.
• You will define technical assumptions, exclusions and scope boundaries, reviewing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and equipment lists to identify gaps, inconsistencies and potential risks.
• You will coordinate technical clarifications with customers, Sales teams, Engineering teams and suppliers, ensuring alignment throughout the quotation process.
• You will prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, supporting the development of quotations and ensuring clear communication of the proposed solution.
• You will support project handover activities following order intake, ensuring that relevant technical information and assumptions are clearly transferred to the project teams.
• You will contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards, costing tools, templates and technical documentation, sharing best practices and supporting more efficient solution development.

Your profile

• You have a Degree in Mechanical, Electrotechnical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Automation, Logistics Engineering, or a comparable technical background.
• You bring 2–3 years of experience in a similar technical role, ideally within material handling, conveyor systems, automation, industrial machinery or related industries.
• You have experience in application engineering, proposal engineering, technical sales support or solution design.
• You are comfortable reviewing technical layouts, equipment specifications, BOMs and engineering documentation.
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical information and translate customer requirements into practical solutions.
• You demonstrate sound technical judgement, attention to detail and strong commercial awareness, always keeping the customer and business requirements in focus.
• You have good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint, as well as experience with AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
• You are familiar with CRM tools such as Salesforce or Dynamics; knowledge of SAP or another ERP system is an advantage.
• You have professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken, and demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills.
