Job summary

The University of Porto - FEUP invites applications for a Research Assistant position under the SHIELD-HMP project. The role focuses on analyzing cytostatic drugs on surfaces with LC-MS and assessing exposure risks as part of an international selection procedure.

The contract is fixed-term for up to 24 months, with a base monthly remuneration of €1,974.41 plus allowances, under public employment terms.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering or related fields.
• Special requirements include experience in trace analysis using high‑resolution chromatography with MS detection.
• Knowledge of extraction methods for emerging contaminants and exposure risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze cytostatic contamination on hospital surfaces using LC-MS.
• Perform exposure risk assessment and evaluate decontamination measures.
• Develop and validate a cleaning protocol for contaminated surfaces.
• Contribute to education and dissemination activities related to the project.
