AgileEngine, LLC in Coimbra, Portugal is seeking a Python Developer to build and scale an event-driven integration platform with APIs, resilience, and AI-facing integrations.

The role requires deep Python experience, knowledge of event-driven architectures, REST/OpenAPI design, and Kafka. You’ll work with CI/CD, Linux, and containerized services in a fast-moving team with remote and office options.

Competenze

• 4+ years of production Python experience with typed, tested APIs.
• Strong knowledge of event-driven, asynchronous architectures.
• REST API design and OpenAPI experience; AsyncAPI contracts.
• Kafka or equivalent streaming platform experience.
• GenAI-assisted development with AI coding tools.
• Testing discipline (pytest), CI/CD pipelines, Linux, Git, and containers.
• Ability to explain trade-offs and design decisions clearly.
• Desire to learn and evaluate new tools continuously.

Mansioni

• Build and evolve a Python service handling an event taxonomy, durable replayable logs, and workers that operate on the ITSM platform.
• Design and maintain interfaces using OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
• Create a robust correlation/decision layer turning signals into actions with exactly-once behavior.
• Develop resilience mechanisms to keep services usable during upstream outages.
• Support multiple access patterns: fire-and-forget, submit-and-poll, webhooks and streaming ingest.
• Develop event type registry and self-service onboarding for teams.
• Build GenAI-facing interfaces for safe tool use by AI agents.
• Modernize legacy integrations with controlled deprecation paths.
• Own quality end-to-end: reviews, standards, tests, observability, production support.
• Participate in ceremonies and customer meetings to gather requirements.
• Autonomously own components or projects with architecture decisions documented.
