Next Engineering is hiring a backend engineer in Portugal to develop scalable services using Python and FastAPI. You will design REST APIs and microservices for a UK market retail project, deploying on AKS and managing infrastructure with Terraform in cloud-native environments.

The role requires strong Python skills, hands-on experience with Kubernetes (AKS), Docker, and distributed systems, plus deep knowledge of Azure and architectural best practices.

Qualificações

• Strong background in software development.
• Hands-on expertise in Python.
• Proficiency in FastAPI and backend development.
• Solid knowledge of Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.
• Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, preferably AKS.
• Familiarity with Docker, microservices and distributed systems.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure.
• Good understanding of software architecture and engineering best practices.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Design and implement REST APIs and microservices for a Retail project targeting the UK market.
• Work with AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) for container orchestration and cloud-native deployments.
• Use Terraform and IaC to automate and manage cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design reliable, scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Contribute to software architecture, testing, CI/CD and observability practices.
• Troubleshoot and optimize backend services to ensure high performance, availability and scalability.
