Job summary

Jobgether SRL seeks a Forward Deployed Agile Software Engineer based in Portugal to work directly with clients and transform ambiguous needs into production-ready AI-powered solutions. You will design and deploy AI-enabled applications, autonomous agentic workflows, APIs, and full-stack products tailored to real business requirements.

Qualifications

• Professional software engineering experience building and deploying production-grade software.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or similar languages used for AI apps and tooling.
• Understanding of how to design infrastructure for AI agents to run reliably in production.
• Experience with agentic workflow development (planning, tool use, execution, observation, reflection, recovery, termination).
• Familiarity with graph-based orchestration, state machines, and multi-step workflows coordinating agents, tools, data, and human approvals.
• Experience designing evaluation systems for AI applications, including benchmarks, regression suites, and production monitoring.
• Knowledge of prompt design, context management, memory, retrieval, tool use, model selection, and trade-offs affecting quality and cost.
• Experience instrumenting AI systems for tracing decisions, intermediate states, and failures.
• Strong APIs, distributed systems, databases, cloud infrastructure, and modern software development practices.
• Ability to quickly understand new technologies and business domains to deliver tested prototypes and production-ready solutions.
• Client-facing experience and clear communication of decisions, risks, and trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to translate objectives into clear requirements and delivery plans.
• Design, develop, and deploy AI-enabled applications, agentic workflows, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Build the infrastructure surrounding AI models including prompts, tools, and observability.
• Develop agent loops with planning, tool selection, execution, observation, and recovery.
• Create evaluation frameworks and testing strategies to measure accuracy, latency, cost, and value.
• Prototype rapidly and transform proofs of concept into secure, scalable production systems.
• Integrate AI solutions with client systems, data sources, and cloud platforms.
• Establish safeguards for autonomous systems and address issues like hallucinations and unsafe execution.
• Instrument applications to capture traces and performance metrics for troubleshooting.
• Apply strong software engineering practices across testing, documentation, security, and CI/CD.
• Communicate decisions, risks, and progress clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Share reusable patterns and contribute to technical discovery and pre-sales discussions.
