Jobgether is seeking a senior Character Art Director to shape the visual identity of a stylized mobile game. Based in Portugal, you will guide design from concepts to in‑game implementation while maintaining high artistic standards across distributed teams.

The role blends hands-on artistry with leadership, requiring a portfolio of stylized characters, strong storytelling, and fluency in English. This fully remote position is Europe/US-friendly.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years as a game artist in senior roles.
• Proven experience as Character Art Director, Art Director, or Lead.
• Strong portfolio of stylized character work and storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain a cohesive character art direction across the project.
• Develop distinctive characters with expressive silhouettes and color theory.
• Translate gameplay into character design while maintaining readability.
• Provide hands-on sketches, paintovers, and visual references to guide the team.
• Oversee the production pipeline from concepts to in-game presentation.
• Establish design guidelines and quality benchmarks for characters.
• Offer detailed feedback on concepts, models, and materials.
• Collaborate with animation and gameplay teams to support expressive movement.
• Mentor artists and align international teams across time zones.
• Balance creative ambition with production timelines and constraints.
