Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Storyboard Concept Artist to work remotely from Portugal, transforming briefs and gameplay moments into storyboards guiding animation, cinematics, and in-game storytelling. You will shape camera language and pacing, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to refine concepts and deliver production-ready visuals.

Qualifications

• At least five years of professional experience in storyboarding, visual development, concept art, or a related discipline.
• Professional experience in game development, animation, film, or other narrative-driven visual production environments.
• An exceptional portfolio demonstrating strong storyboarding, visual storytelling, and cinematic composition skills.
• Excellent drawing fundamentals, including anatomy, perspective, posing, staging, and gesture.
• A strong understanding of camera language, shot composition, visual continuity, and pacing.
• The ability to communicate complex actions, emotions, and character interactions clearly and effectively through images.
• Experience creating storyboards, animatics, or keyframe sequences.
• A strong understanding of character acting, facial expressions, body language, and emotional storytelling.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Storyboard Pro, or equivalent professional tools.
• The ability to manage tasks independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary creative teams.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the visual development of story-driven sequences, translating narrative concepts into clear, expressive storyboards that support the wider game production process.
• Develop effective cinematic compositions, camera angles, staging, and transitions to strengthen emotional impact and narrative clarity. Establish visual rhythm, pacing, and continuity across sequences.
• Communicate character personality, emotion, and intention through poses, facial expressions, gestures, and body language, making interactions engaging and memorable.
• Produce thumbnails, keyframes, sketches, and visual references to explore different creative directions and refine concepts.
• Apply strong drawing fundamentals to communicate movement, action, anatomy, perspective, and spatial relationships clearly.
• Balance cinematic storytelling with gameplay readability to ensure action moments are visually understandable.
• Collaborate with Art Directors, Animators, Character Artists, Game Designers, and Narrative Teams to develop character performances and sequences.
• Incorporate feedback efficiently while preserving creative intent to meet production objectives and standards.
• Prepare clear storyboards and visual references to support animatics, animation, and in-game implementation.
• Maintain a consistent visual language and high storytelling standards throughout production.
