Job summary

SME Careers is seeking a legally experienced SME to review AI-generated legal content and provide expert feedback. The role requires drafting, issue spotting, and rigorous analysis across multiple legal domains, with emphasis on accuracy, clarity, and risk assessment.

You will work remotely on an hourly contractor basis, delivering precise explanations and model outputs. Preferred candidates have 5+ years' practice, active bar membership, and strong research and editing skills.

Qualifications

• JD/LLB (or equivalent law degree) and active bar membership in at least one jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of professional experience practicing law (law firm, in-house, government, or legal aid).
• Strong ability to perform issue spotting and structured legal analysis (rules → application → conclusion).
• Demonstrated experience in multiple practice areas (commercial/contracts, employment, privacy, corporate, litigation, IP, real estate, compliance).

Responsibilities

• Develop AI Training Content: Create detailed prompts and gold-standard legal outputs and memos.
• Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI responses for correctness, clarity, defensibility, and risk awareness.
• Ensure Model Integrity: Test AI outputs for inaccuracies, confidentiality risks, and bias across legal scenarios.
