Job summary

Stadler Digital Labs, the digital competence center for the Stadler Group, seeks a Software Testing Engineer to join a hybrid team in Coimbra or Lisbon. You will design and implement automated tests in Python, perform manual testing, and support verification in safety-critical rail projects.

Requirements include a degree in CS/IT, experience with railway signaling systems, fluent English, and a proactive team spirit. Enthusiasm for AI trends and new testing methods is welcome.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/IT or comparable professional experience.
• Fluent English is mandatory; German is a plus.
• Proactive mindset and strong team-player skills.
• Interest in AI trends and upskilling in an AI-enabled environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze system and software requirements
• Design and implement automated tests in Python as well as manual tests
• Execute functional, integration, and regression tests in a simulated lab environment
• Evaluate test results and document test evidence according to safety standards (EN‑50716)
• Write test specification, record test results and write test reports
• Analyze and report defects with initial root-cause analysis
• Contribute to verification and validation activities
• Collaborate with system engineers, developers, safety experts, and V&V engineering
• Contribute to improvements of testing processes, tools, methods, and automation strategies
• Prepare for and participate in audits (e.g., updating processes according to standards)
