Axians is seeking a senior Quality & Risk Management Officer in Lisbon to monitor data quality, support risk activities, and drive process improvements across Front and Back Office systems. You will contribute to testing, reporting, and new product implementations, leveraging Excel, VBA, and Power BI for end-to-end operational excellence.

The role requires strong banking domain knowledge, 5+ years of experience, and fluent English.

QUALITY & RISK MANAGEMENT OFFICER

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a senior professional to join a Quality & Risk Management function within the banking sector. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring operational quality, supporting risk management activities, conducting cross-functional analyses, and producing quantitative and qualitative reporting. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes, support system and database migration initiatives, participate in testing activities, and help ensure the successful implementation of new products, controls, and operational frameworks.

What You Will Do on a Daily Basis

• Monitor and control data, balances, positions, and order flows across Front Office and Back Office applications.
• Develop and support end-user computing tools using MS Access VBA, queries, and Excel-based solutions.
• Contribute to database migration initiatives and system flow mapping activities.
• Perform operational controls, analyses, and reporting, ensuring data quality and process efficiency.
• Participate in UAT preparation and execution, process improvements, training initiatives, and the implementation of new operational setups and products.

Your Key Skills

• Strong understanding of banking systems, operations, and financial products.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, Access, Business Objects, and Power BI.
• Ability to develop and maintain VBA code, MS Access queries, and Excel macros.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex operational processes.
• Proficiency in digital tools and technologies supporting operational efficiency.

Your Main Qualifications

• More than 5 years of professional experience in banking operations, quality management, risk management, or related areas.
• Experience working with operational controls, reporting, process improvement, and testing activities.
• Good knowledge of financial markets products, including equities, derivatives, and investment funds.
• Excellent organizational skills, communication abilities, customer orientation, and team spirit, combined with rigor, methodology, and flexibility.
• Advanced level of English (written and spoken).
