Decskill is expanding its team in Portugal. We seek a Python Software Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable back-end services and data integrations.

You will create APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations to support complex data ecosystems across international projects. Join a collaborative, agile environment with CI/CD, testing, and strong emphasis on code quality, security, and performance.

Qualificações

• University degree or equivalent professional experience in IT/CS/Information Management or related field.
• Strong experience in Python development with FastAPI and Flask frameworks.
• Solid API design skills with RESTful/microservices architectures.
• Experience with unit and integration testing (PyTest/Unittest).
• Experience with ALM/Octane and test management tools.
• Advanced SQL skills incl. PostgreSQL and database design/optimisation.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Git workflows, code reviews, and observability.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS or IBM) and Docker.
• Experience in Agile/DevOps environments and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, Git, ALM).
• Experience with third-party data, data governance, or data management is a plus.
• Ability to work across Technical Business Analyst, Developer, and Tech Lead roles.

Responsabilidades

• Design, secure, and scale back-end architectures supporting third-party data ecosystems.
• Develop and maintain scalable applications and integrations for data accessibility and real-time availability.

• Translate requirements into high-quality, scalable software solutions.
• Code and test components per development and security standards.
• Implement unit/integration testing and assist defect analysis/resolution.
• Contribute to code quality, maintainability, and performance with best practices.
• Industrialize solutions using CI/CD best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and apply design patterns and clean architecture.
• Support testing (FAT/UAT) and defect resolution.
• Assist deployment activities and service continuity.
• Ensure adherence to quality, security, and development standards.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Solution Architects to align technical solutions with business needs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation of data ecosystem and related apps.
• Support maintenance across the software development lifecycle.
• Analyse user requirements and support changes adoption.

Python Software Developer!

Responsibilities:

• Design, secure, and scale back-end architectures supporting the evolution of third-party data ecosystems.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and integrations to improve data accessibility, consistency, and real-time availability across systems.
• Develop and maintain APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations supporting business processes and data exchanges.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into high-quality, scalable software solutions.
• Code and test software components in compliance with development and security standards.
• Implement unit and integration testing and contribute to defect analysis and resolution.
• Contribute to the design, modelling, and implementation of solutions, with a focus on code quality, maintainability, and performance.
• Industrialize solutions according to CI/CD best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and apply software engineering best practices, including clean architecture and design patterns.
• Contribute to Functional Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), supporting defect analysis and resolution.
• Support deployment activities and contribute to service continuity and continuous development.
• Ensure compliance with quality, security, and development standards and best practices.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between technical solutions and business requirements.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of the data ecosystem and related applications.
• Support application maintenance and development activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Analyse functional requirements from end users and contribute to the implementation and adoption of changes.

Requirements:

• University degree, or equivalent professional experience, in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
• Strong experience in Python development, including FastAPI, Flask, and related frameworks.
• Strong experience in API design, RESTful services, and microservices architectures.
• Experience with unit and integration testing, using frameworks such as PyTest or Unittest.
• Experience with test management tools such as ALM/Octane.
• Advanced SQL skills, including database design and optimisation, preferably with PostgreSQL.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, including CI/CD, Git workflows, code review, clean architecture, design patterns, unit testing, and observability.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS or IBM.
• Experience with containerisation using Docker.
• Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments.
• Experience with collaboration and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git, and ALM.
• Experience with third-party data, data governance, or data management is a plus.
• Ability to work across multiple roles, including Technical Business Analyst, Developer, and Tech Lead responsibilities.
