Job summary

Decskill in Lisbon seeks a Python Developer to design, build and maintain backend services and HTTP APIs using Python. You will shape data models, business logic and API architectures for scalable solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features end to end.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of Python experience with FastAPI and Django, solid SQL data modelling, and familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines, plus fluent English.

Qualifications

We are looking for a Python Developer for a challenging project in Lisbon.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain reliable backend services and HTTP APIs using Python.
• Design and implement data models, business logic and API architectures.
• Develop automated unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and support automated software delivery.
• Deploy, operate and monitor backend services in cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing production support.
• Apply secure coding practices and consider security and potential threats throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with other developers and stakeholders to deliver features end to end, from design through deployment and maintenance.
• Review code and contribute to technical improvements, performance and scalability of backend solutions.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field;
• More than 4 years of professional experience with Python development.
• Strong hands‑on experience with FastAPI and Django.
• Solid experience with SQL‑based databases and data modelling.
• Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Good understanding of Scrum/Agile methodologies.
• Fluency in English (mandatory)
