Job summary

Intellia is seeking a Python Engineer to design and maintain AI agent workflows using LangGraph. You will orchestrate stateful workflows, implement checkpointing with SQLite/Redis/PostgreSQL, and enable HITL, retries and observability across execution paths.

The role requires strong Python skills, experience with LangGraph/LangChain, and a solid grasp of asynchronous and distributed workflow design to deliver resilient, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Python development experience.
• Hands-on experience with LangGraph or LangChain.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous and distributed workflow design.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI agent workflows using LangGraph and Python.
• Build graph-based orchestration logic with nodes, edges and state transitions.
• Implement workflow checkpointing and recovery using SQLite, Redis, or PostgreSQL backends.
• Develop HITL workflows for approval, escalation and intervention scenarios.
• Design resilient execution patterns with retries, timeouts and fallbacks.
• Develop asynchronous workflow execution using Python asyncio.
• Implement OpenTelemetry tracing across orchestration layers.
• Troubleshoot workflow issues and optimize performance, reliability and observability.
• Collaborate with platform and AI engineering teams to build scalable solutions.
• Create automated tests for workflow reliability and recovery scenarios.
• Contribute to engineering standards around agent orchestration.
