Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Python Application Security Engineer to automate security controls and embed secure coding practices into software development and cloud workflows.

You will drive AppSec automation, integrate security testing tools into CI/CD, and implement runtime checks with CSPM and IaC tooling, working across modern development stacks and ensuring secure-by-default deployments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience combining software engineering, security implementation and/or architecture.
• Strong coding and architectural proficiency in Python for security automation and scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Wiz, Prisma Cloud, or similar tools for cloud security posture management and threat detection.
• Experience implementing deploy-time checks against Infrastructure as Code (IaC) / Terraform.
• Experience implementing runtime checks through Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM).
• Fully autonomous execution capability, requiring no daily supervision to map out and build automated security runbooks.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and deploy AI-enabled secure code scanning capabilities and Gold Images to drive secure-from-the-start adoption.
• Automate the development of secure coding patterns and integrate them with SDLC workflows.
• Architect the integration of continuous security scanning tools into enterprise CI/CD pipelines, tuning them to eliminate noise.
• Implement runtime security checks via CSPM to maintain cloud visibility and threat posture.
• Read and review complex Java/Python code to provide code-level remediation guidance.
