Progressive in Lisbon is seeking a Protection Engineer to design, implement and commission protection systems for electrical substations, HV/MV/LV networks, renewables and industrial facilities. You will perform protection coordination, fault analysis, and relay settings, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure IEC/IEEE standard compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

This full-time role offers hands-on involvement from engineering studies through testing and operation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of protection engineering experience in substations, transmission & distribution, renewables or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of protection coordination, selectivity and fault analysis.
• Experience with protection relays Siemens SIPROTEC, ABB Relion, Schneider Easergy, GE Multilin and SEL.
• Familiarity with IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, Modbus and DNP3 communications.
• Experience with ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or CYME.
• Fluent English; Portuguese is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Analyze specifications, tender documents and project requirements.
• Develop protection schemes and detailed engineering for HV/MV/LV substations.
• Perform coordination, selectivity and short-circuit studies.
• Configure and validate protective relays from listed manufacturers.
• Prepare technical specs and datasheets for protection equipment.
• Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning and testing activities.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards.
