We are looking for a Control Engineer to support the design, implementation and commissioning of automation, control and SCADA systems for substations and industrial facilities. The successful candidate will work across all project phases, from engineering design through testing, commissioning and site support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop basic and detailed engineering for control, automation and SCADA systems.
- Prepare control philosophies, functional descriptions, I/O lists and cause-effect matrices.
- Design and review control architectures, communication networks and system interfaces.
- Configure and integrate PLCs, RTUs, HMIs and SCADA platforms.
- Develop technical specifications and datasheets for control and automation equipment.
- Coordinate interfaces with electrical, telecommunications and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning and functional testing activities.
- Troubleshoot automation, communication and control system issues.
- Provide technical support during construction, energisation and start‑up phases.
- Ensure compliance with IEC standards and client requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in control, automation or SCADA engineering.
- Experience in substations, renewable energy, power transmission & distribution or industrial projects.
- Hands‑on experience with PLC, RTU and SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of the following protocols:
- IEC 61850
- IEC 60870-5-104
- Modbus TCP/RTU
- DNP3
- OPC UA
- Experience with platforms such as Siemens, ABB, Schneider, GE Digital, Rockwell or Ignition.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication networks and control systems.
- Fluent English; Portuguese is a strong advantage.
Preferred
- Experience in renewable energy projects (Solar, Wind or BESS).
- Knowledge of digital substations and IEC 62443 cybersecurity principles.
- Previous involvement in commissioning and site activities.
