IQAS is seeking a highly experienced Project Director to lead our large-scale solar and battery storage developments in Portugal. You will oversee the full lifecycle from feasibility to commercial operation, defining strategy and ensuring technical and financial alignment.

You will lead the project team through planning, bidding, EPC coordination, grid integration, and BESS lifecycle management, while mitigating risks and reporting to the Board.

Qualificações

• 10+ years of utility-scale renewable energy project management.
• Experience in design, construction and commissioning of large-scale BESS integrated with Solar PV.
• Fluent in English; proficient with project management software and financial reporting.

• Plan and develop comprehensive project execution plans with baselines and WBS.
• Direct bidding and tender preparation, define scope, coordinate cost estimation and evaluate bids.
• Lead project development to meet milestones within schedules and budgets.
• Manage turnkey EPC contractors and ensure compliance with scope, specs and deliverables.
• Oversee grid connection processes with local authorities and regulatory requirements.
• Direct BESS lifecycle activities including integration, testing and performance validation.
• Define risk mitigation strategies for procurement, logistics, and site works; report to Board.

IQAS is seeking a highly experienced Project Director to lead our upcoming large-scale solar and battery storage developments. You will oversee the full lifecycle of complex energy projects, from initial feasibility and bid preparation through to commercial operation. You will be responsible for defining the project strategy, ensuring technical and commercial alignment, and managing stakeholder relations to deliver high-quality, high-performance assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning & Project Strategy: Lead the development of comprehensive project execution plans. This includes defining work breakdown structures (WBS), establishing project baselines, managing resource allocation, and ensuring that schedules are robust and aligned with project constraints.
• Bidding & Tender Preparation: Direct the preparation of technical and commercial proposals. You will define the scope of work for contractors vs. internal teams, coordinate cost estimation, and evaluate third-party submissions to ensure competitive and winning bids.
• Strategic Oversight: Lead the project development team to ensure milestones are met within established execution schedules and budget parameters.
• EPC & Contract Management: Manage turnkey EPC contractors, ensuring strict adherence to the defined Scope of Works, technical specifications, and contractual deliverables.
• Grid Integration & Compliance: Oversee grid connection processes, coordinating with local utility authorities to ensure full compliance with regional grid codes, connection agreements, and technical standards.
• BESS Lifecycle Management: Direct the integration, testing, and performance validation of the BESS units. You must ensure the systems meet functional specifications, including the effective integration of Power Conversion Systems (PCS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS).
• Risk & Reporting: Define risk mitigation strategies for procurement, logistics, and site works; provide transparent, high-level status reports to the Board and key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years in utility-scale renewable energy project management.
• Critical: Proven experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of large-scale BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) integrated with Solar PV.
• Critical: Demonstrated experience in the "front-end" of project development, specifically in detailed planning, schedule tracking, and successful bid/tender management for large-scale energy projects.
• Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, or Renewable Energy).
• Experience in international project delivery and navigating diverse regulatory environments.
• Fluent in English; expertise in project management software and financial reporting.
