Job summary

Excetech in Portugal is expanding its SMT business and seeks a Project Engineer (SMT). You will install, maintain and troubleshoot SMT equipment at customer sites, train operators on machine operation and maintenance, and coordinate orders and deliveries with our China-based team.

You will lead projects to optimise complete SMT solutions, improve production capacity and drive automation, with emergency support outside normal hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in the SMT electronics industry.
• Good written, reading and spoken English.
• Basic understanding of PLC, AOI, SPI, printers, mounters, ovens, wave solder machines, conveyors.
• Willingness to engage with international teams.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Install, maintain and troubleshoot

SMT and related equipment at customer sites.

Train customers

on machine operation, programming and maintenance, and support them after installation.

Lead projects:

advise on and optimise complete SMT solutions, improve production capacity and drive automation.

Be there when it matters,

with emergency support for customers outside normal working hours.

Prepare technical reports and English PPT solutions,

follow up on open issues, purchase orders and payments, and demonstrate or test new machines on request.

Coordinate orders and deliveries.

You communicate with the customer;

our business assistant team in China handles the detailed processing.

Introduce our company and products to new customers, and pass their requests to your supervisor so we can follow up.

Work as one team

with colleagues across the company to keep customers satisfied.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Experience:

Background in the SMT electronics industry.

Written, reading and spoken English at a working level.

Technical knowledge:

Basic understanding of PLC, AOI, SPI, printers, mounters, ovens, wave solder machines, conveyors and similar equipment.

You listen closely to customer requirements and enjoy exploring and developing new customer markets.

Nice to have:

An understanding of Chinese culture, or genuine curiosity about it. You do not need to speak Chinese.
