The International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) seeks a Project Implementation Officer to support CHIPS JU and IC design services across Europe. The role focuses on industrial engagement and collaboration with SMEs, startups, and policy-driven programmes.

Qualificações

• Demonstrated experience in technical project management or key account management.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as point of contact for fabless SMEs and start-ups accessing IC design services at national and European level, supporting them from pre-design through tape-out and ramp-up, including users of EuroCDP advanced services and related funding programs.
• Support SMEs and startups in project definition and scoping, eligibility assessment, proposal preparation and optimisation, and monitoring of advanced services.
• Support users in navigating incubation and acceleration programmes.
• Coordinate interactions between different European Chips initiatives, such as EuroCDP, Chips Competence Centres, Pilot Lines and Design Enablement Teams.
• Contribute to ecosystem activation through outreach, events, stakeholder engagement, and communication activities.

Overview

The Research Support for Excellence (RSE) department is seeking a Project Implementation Officer, with sound knowledge in semiconductor technologies and technical consulting to support the implementation and growth of its semiconductor-related initiatives under the CHIPS Joint Undertaking (CHIPS JU). This role will serve as the contact point for fabless SMEs and start-ups accessing IC design services at national and European level, fostering effective collaboration between industry, research, and public authorities at Regional, National, and European levels.

The Project Implementation Officer will contribute to strengthening INL's positioning within the European semiconductor landscape, ensuring strong industrial engagement and alignment with European and national policy priorities.

Job Duties

The job duties will be the following:

• Serve as point of contact for fabless SMEs and start-ups accessing IC design services at national and European level, supporting them from pre-design through tape-out and ramp-up, including users of EuroCDP advanced services and related funding programs.

Mandatory Qualifications

Education

• Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Semiconductor Technologies, Materials Science, or a closely related field.

Experience and Technical Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in semiconductor technologies, technical consulting, or innovation support ecosystems.
• Experience in technical project management, key account management, consulting, or innovation program coordination.
• Experience working with SMEs, start-ups, and innovation ecosystems in semiconductor or deep-tech sectors with a solid understanding of the semiconductor value chain.
• Familiarity with European funding instruments (e.g. Horizon Europe, CHIPS JU, Digital Europe).
• Demonstrated experience in technical project management or key account management.
• Experience working with European institutions, or policy-driven programmes.

How the Selection Process works

A. Applications eligibility check

This stage will be carried out on the basis of the mandatory requirements, education, experience and technical skills defined for the job, as well as the validation of the mandatory documents. Only candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will move forward to the next stage.

The Selection Committee will evaluate the eligible applications based on their CV and other submitted documents and the suitability for the position. The best ranked candidates will be shortlisted for the interview stage(s).

C. Interview(s)

The interview(s) may be done in different formats: video recording, online or onsite.

The question based interview will evaluate the match between the candidate’s profile and the requirements for the position, including the technical and personal skills. To better support this stage, the candidate may be requested to prepare a short presentation.

D. Nomination
