BorgWarner is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Program Launch Buyer (M/F/D) to join our new production plant in Viana, Portugal. You will oversee launch planning, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure readiness with purchasing, production and logistics.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years in project or operations management, plus strong problem-solving, communication and multitasking skills.

Qualificações

  • 3+ years of experience in project management or operations in a project-driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of launch phases and milestone tracking.
  • Excellent problem-solving and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration with external partners and teams.

Responsabilidades

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Program Launch Buyer (M/F/D) at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.

Responsibilities
  • Launch planning & coordination: Oversee the development and execution of detailed launch plans for assigned projects, ensuring all activities are executed according to schedule and budget;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of project goals, requirements and milestones;
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to ensure launch readiness, including purchasing, production and logistics;
  • BOM cost and vendor tooling management according to project requirement.
  • Milestone Monitoring & Compliance: Ensure that the project progresses according to the milestones (BW and customer) and deadlines set until launch.
  • Track and monitor the progress of activities, identifying delays or problems that could affect the launch schedule.
  • Work closely with the project teams to implement corrective actions when necessary and ensure that the project remains on schedule.
  • Problem-Solving & Barrier Management: Identify potential risks, obstacles or bottlenecks in the pre-launch and launch phases.
  • Proactively assess challenges and develop alternative solutions to keep the project moving forward without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to fix any problems that could interrupt project milestones or affect the launch date.
  • Highlight project difficulties and provide recommendations to overcome barriers and keep the project on track.
  • Supplier & Stakeholder Coordination: Work with suppliers, vendors and other external partners to ensure that all necessary materials, resources and services are provided on time.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of expectations and delivery on key project objectives.
  • Resolve any issues with suppliers or external partners in a timely and effective manner to ensure there are no disruptions to the project.
  • Communication & Reporting: Provide regular updates on the progress of launch preparation, highlighting any potential risks or issues.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on milestone achievements, supplier performance and any corrective actions taken.
  • Maintain clear and open communication with all internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is informed about the progress of the launch and any challenges encountered.
  • Develop a culture characterized by good professional ethics and involvement in the process among employees in all áreas;
  • Comply with environmental, health and safety, quality and productivity standards;
  • Comply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, practice and working period;
  • Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules;
  • Perform other tasks not included in the activity for which they were hired, when the needs or convenience of service so warrant, for the period of time necessary for the aforementioned needs or convenience of service.
Requirements & Competencies
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in project management, operations management, or a related role in a project-driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, particularly in launch phases and milestone tracking.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while adhering to tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management tools.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Experience with product launch or go-to-market strategies.
