Hiire is supporting a leading Portuguese technology company in the Defence sector, seeking a Product Engineer to join the Product Management team. This role links Product Management with R&D, Supply Chain and Manufacturing to industrialize and optimize products.

You will drive cost analysis, manage BOMs in ERP/PLM, and support lifecycle management from design to manufacture, including cost-reduction initiatives and qualification activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, or a related field.
• Experience in Product Engineering, Industrialization, NPI, or similar roles.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and product lifecycle management.
• Experience with ERP/PLM systems.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics and drawings.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Support the industrialization of new products using DFM and DFA principles.
• Develop and manage product structures and BOMs in ERP/PLM.
• Calculate and optimize industrial product costs and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Coordinate engineering change management and maintain product documentation.
• Monitor reliability and obsolescence, mitigate risks and support sustainability.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality and R&D to support production and continuous improvement.
