Elastic, a global distributed software company, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Platform Engineering Productivity team in Lisbon. The role focuses on improving CI infrastructure, releasing artifacts, and enabling developers with scalable, high-quality processes.

You will work across teams to define release quality gates, build deployment tooling, and mentor engineers while driving engineering excellence and clear technical communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualificações

• Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle (build, test, release, quality).
• Deep experience in Python, Go, Bash, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with CI/CD systems, Git and modern release practices.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and developer platforms (Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Designing scalable systems and improving developer productivity via tooling.
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication.

Responsabilidades

• Improve CI infrastructure reliability and efficiency.
• Build and manage systems that produce releasable artifacts.
• Enable episodic developer environments.
• Define and enforce release quality gates.
• Develop tooling for product deployment and release.
• Review code to uphold engineering standards and catch defects.
• Collaborate with engineering/product on requirements and testing strategy.
• Drive clear technical communication across teams.
• Create and maintain high-quality technical docs.
• Mentor engineers and promote code quality and best practices.
