Job summary

INESC TEC in Porto, Portugal invites applications for a 12-month Research Grant (BI) in Electrical Engineering, starting 15 November 2026, under UID/50014/2025. The grant is funded from national funds via FCT and includes a monthly stipend and health insurance.

The role involves literature review, converter modeling and control development, and dissemination of results through reports and scientific papers. Fluency in Portuguese and knowledge of English are required.

Qualifications

• Academic background in Electrical Engineering.
• Fluency in Portuguese (spoken and written).
• Knowledge of power electronics, AC/DC converters, filters, and simulation tools.
• Previous experience in converter modeling and control.
• Ability to conceptualize problems and their solutions.
• Preference factors: Fluency in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Review state-of-the-art: literature review on power electronics topologies for grid coupling and AC/DC conversion in wireless charging systems.
• Modeling, sizing, and simulation of input circuit and power quality control for the IPT system.
• Prepare technical reports and papers for conferences and journals.
