INL - International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory in Braga, Portugal, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Advanced Materials and Thin-Film Technologies. This full-time position, within the Salomé Research Group, spans 24 months with an expected starting date in December 2026.

The role focuses on developing innovative materials, performing characterisation, and integrating thin-film processes into functional demonstrators and devices, including disseminating findings in

Formación

• PhD in physics, materials science or closely related field is mandatory.
• Experience in materials science, nanotechnology or thin-film technologies.
• Experience with materials characterisation and device development.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct independent scientific research within the MI3S project.
• Develop, optimise and validate advanced materials and thin-film fabrication processes.
• Perform experimental investigations and analyse process–structure–property relationships.
• Design experimental methodologies and assess reproducibility and performance.
• Contribute to integration of materials into functional demonstrators and devices.
• Prepare publications and present results at conferences.
• Generate technical reports and project deliverables.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Mentor junior researchers and students involved in related activities.
• Identify opportunities for new research proposals and applications.
