Körber Supply Chain in Portalegre, Portugal seeks an experienced SPS Software Expert to lead software engineering and commissioning across international projects. You will head on-site teams and own software activities from concept to commissioning.

You will create software concepts based on our libraries and standards, support planning, and ensure delivery within scope, time and budget while improving software libraries and solutions. Fluent English is required; travel ~30% is expected.

Qualificações

• Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Several years of software development and concept design in industrial automation.
• Expert knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal, Failsafe and WinCC.
• Experience with Ethernet and Profinet; safety-related applications.
• Commissioning experience and on-site team leadership.
• Fluent in English; German is an advantage.
• Willing to travel internationally ~30% of time.

We are looking for an experienced SPS Software Expert to lead software engineering and commissioning activities across our international projects. This is a great opportunity for early-career engineers who want to combine technical thinking, creativity, and business exposure in an international environment. Your role in our team You will act as the SW & Commissioning Lead Engineer for international sorter and conveyor technology projects.

You will lead international project teams and take ownership of software engineering activities from concept development to commissioning. You will create software concepts for customer-specific functionalities based on our software libraries and engineering standards.

You will support project planning activities and ensure compliance with established tools, processes and quality standards across international project teams. You will contribute to the continuous improvement and further development of our software libraries and engineering solutions. You will ensure software engineering activities are delivered within the agreed scope, timeline, budget and quality requirements while supporting project calculations and proposal activities.

Your profile

You have a Master's degree in Automation Engineering, Computer Science or a comparable field. You have several years of experience in software development and software concept design within industrial automation, logistics or warehouse automation environments. You have expert knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal, Failsafe and Win CC. You have experience with industrial communication systems such as Ethernet and Profinet, as well as safety-related applications.

You have proven commissioning experience and have successfully led teams on-site during project execution. You have strong communication skills and enjoy working in international and multicultural environments. You are fluent in English. German language skills are considered an advantage. You are willing to travel internationally for approximately 30% of your working time.
