Job summary

Planck Technologies seeks an experienced Platform Engineer to support a US-based data platform. You will be hands-on with GCP, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD, coordinating with international teams. English communication is essential, and availability for US Eastern Time or Portugal hours is required. ASAP start is preferred.

This role offers exposure to Biostatistics data platforms and modern IaC practices, with remote work options for candidates in Portugal or Brazil.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on engineering and operational support for the US GCP data platform.
• Support R&D initiatives, including Biostatistics and related data platform programs.
• Build, maintain and support GCP infrastructure using Terraform.
• Maintain and support GitLab CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
• Manage and troubleshoot GCP services, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, IAM, service accounts, logging and monitoring.
• Support environment provisioning, access management, deployments and configuration changes.
• Monitor platform and data pipeline operations, resolving failures and performance issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks and deployment procedures.
• Collaborate with US and global platform teams to resolve technical dependencies.
• Contribute to platform reliability, automation and operational efficiency.

What are we looking for?

Are you an experienced Platform Engineer with strong Google Cloud Platform expertise? We’re looking for a hands-on professional to support one of our client’s Research and Development initiatives, including Biostatistics and related data platform programs.

Job Description:

Minimum experience required:

• 3–5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Data Engineering or a related technical role.

It is mandatory that you:

• Have strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Have experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Have experience supporting CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitLab.
• Have strong English communication skills.
• Be available to work primarily during US Eastern Time (ET) or Portugal business hours, depending on the position.
• Be available to start ASAP.

Requirements:

• Experience with GCP infrastructure and cloud platform operations.
• Knowledge of BigQuery, Cloud Storage, IAM, service accounts, logging and monitoring.
• Experience with Terraform and infrastructure provisioning.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and deployments across development, UAT and production environments.
• Knowledge of environment management, access management and configuration changes.
• Experience with platform monitoring, troubleshooting and incident resolution.Familiarity with security, governance, SDLC and change management practices.
• Ability to collaborate with international teams and delivery partners.
• French proficiency is a plus.
