Job summary

Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto seeks a PhD Researcher equivalent to Assistant Researcher to conduct research in Pathological Anatomy and Pathology under the HEALTH-UNORTE II project. The role requires experience in oncology research, tumour biology, and biomarker analysis, with a focus on translational studies and advancement of digital pathology techniques.

The position is a fixed-term contract with 35 hours per week, based at FMUP, Porto.

Qualifications

• PhD degree in the scientific area of Medical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Pathological Anatomy, Molecular Pathology, Oncology, Molecular Biology or related areas.
• Experience in translational research in oncology with focus on tumour biology and biomarkers.
• Scientific output through international peer-reviewed publications in oncology/pathology.

Responsibilities

• Carry out research activities in the scientific areas of Pathological Anatomy and Pathology.
• Engage in activity within HEALTH-UNORTE II project and related research tasks.
• Collaborate in the development of biomarkers and translational studies for cancer research.
