Mercer in Lisbon is seeking a diligent actuary to join our Actuarial Valuations team in a hybrid role, requiring three days per week in the office. You will collaborate with experienced analysts and UK consultants on pension projects and valuations within the Pension Plans & Retirement area.

The position offers exposure to data gathering, valuation preparation, regulatory reporting, and project coordination, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, communication, and timely delivery.

Qualificações

• Bachelor/ Master’s degree in math, actuarial science, statistics, economics, finance or related field.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Attention to detail is critical.
• Strong problem solving skills & ability to clearly articulate complex issues.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills in order to prioritize and effectively manage a wide variety of ongoing tasks.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (in particular a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

Responsabilidades

• Work as part of a team supporting consultants and clients in all aspects of pensions actuarial work.
• Request, gather, review and upload client data, and assist in the preparation of actuarial valuations, participant statements and/or client listings.
• Reconcile data and assets from previous valuations and prepare summaries of data, assets, and benefits defined in the plan documentation.
• Check data or plan questions related to valuations and benefit calculations done by more junior analysts.
• Calculate and analyze special retirement projects.
• Prepare government forms and regulatory documentation.
• Support your team on project management and problem resolution.
• Act as a key point of contact for technical and scheme-specific queries received from clients, third parties and other Mercer businesses.
• Ensure projects are delivered on-time and to the high standards required.
