Job summary

H.B. Fuller Portugal is seeking a Payroll Accounting Specialist to manage payroll processing across EIMEA countries, ensuring accurate, timely payroll transactions and compliance. The role collaborates with HR and finance to resolve issues and deliver detailed payroll reporting.

Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or HR and 2–3 years in payroll with ERP experience. Proficiency in English and German is valued, with SAP and Blackline knowledge preferred.

• Experience with multi-country payroll and German payroll is a plus.
• Proven knowledge of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and closing activities.

Position Overview

The Payroll Accounting Specialist is a detail-oriented financial professional responsible for managing payroll processes and ensuring accurate and timely payroll transactions. This role involves preparing and processing payroll, reconciling payroll accounts, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Payroll Accounting Specialist collaborates with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll-related issues, provides detailed payroll reports and analysis, and supports audits.

Primary Responsibilities

• Payroll tasks: Ensure the correct and compliant payroll of EIMEA countries, being knowledgeable of payroll best practices.
• Compliance: Support Internal Controls and Statutory audits.
• Managing general ledger: Oversees general ledgers, ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions & account reconciliations.
• Financial reporting & analysis: Responsible for preparing detailed financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, & cash flow statements.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights & recommendations.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Fiinance, Accounting, or HR
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in payroll and general accounting (multi-countries experience and/or German payroll is a plus)
• Proven accounting knowledge, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations and closing activities
• Knowledge and experience with complex ERP systems [SAP and Blackline preferred] in matrixed organizations
• Strong working knowledge of software, systems and technology (Excel and other software).
• International mindset and strong customer focus
• Excellent command of English and German languages
