Job summary

OceanWave Maritime is seeking a part-time Network and Systems Administrator in Porto, Portugal. You will maintain and troubleshoot our computer networks and systems and provide technical support to staff.

The ideal candidate has experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Windows and Linux, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), routers, switches and firewalls, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills. Immediate availability is required; accommodation is not provided.

Qualifications

Experience as a Network and Systems Administrator or similar role
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.
Experience with network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain computer networks and systems
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
Implement security measures to protect against cyber threats
Provide technical support to employees regarding network and system issues
Keep track of hardware and software inventory and make recommendations for upgrades or replacements as needed
Test new technologies and make recommendations for their implementation in our company
Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
