Operations Manager – Implementation Consultant Team
Location: Onsite Lisbon, Portugal
Overview
The Operations Manager is accountable for the performance, quality, and consistency of a team of Implementation Consultants (ICs) delivering end‑to‑end implementations of Enterprise Suites. This role defines success criteria, owns delivery outcomes, quality standards, process compliance, and personnel performance across a cohort of ~20 consultants. Success is defined by predictable, high‑quality execution at scale—not individual effort. This role requires flexibility to align with U.S. time zones, ensuring seamless collaboration with clients and teams. Experience in QuickBooks products is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Translate business goals into clear, measurable team outcomes
- Define what success looks like across delivery, quality, client experience, and team performance—ensuring expectations are explicit, aligned to program goals, and understood by all consultants.
- Establish and operationalize performance standards across the team
- Set consistent benchmarks for quality, timelines, documentation, and client outcomes, and ensure they are embedded into day‑to‑day execution, coaching, and evaluation.
- Track performance against defined criteria and drive accountability
- Monitor outcomes in real time, identify gaps early, and take corrective action to ensure delivery, quality, and team performance consistently meet defined standards.
Manage Client Outcome
- Project team goes‑live with clear understanding and confidence
- Engagement reflects a professional, high‑touch mid‑market experience
- Issues are fully resolved and clearly communicated
Process Discipline
- Ensure that Implementation Consultants consistently follow defined workflows, documentation standards, and escalation paths
- Documentation is complete, structured, and enables continuity across the team
Team Performance
- Implementation Consultants operate at a consistent performance bar with clear accountability
- New hires ramp quickly and reach productivity early
- Underperformance is addressed quickly and directly
Production & Quality
- Own delivery outcomes across all consultant engagements
- Ensure work is on time, on scope, and aligned to quality expectations
- Monitor portfolio health (timeline, risk, workload balance) and intervene as needed
- Establish and reinforce quality standards across discovery, configuration, and go‑live
- Implement quality checks at key stages
- Identify patterns of rework or defects
- Ensure implementations meet expectations for accuracy, completeness, and client readiness
- Reinforce a mid‑market, consultative delivery bar across all interactions
Compliance with Policy, Process, and Procedures
- Enforce adherence to defined implementation workflows and operating standards
- Ensure consistent use of documentation templates, tools and systems, and handoff and escalation protocols
- Drive consistency in how ICs execute discovery, configure solutions, and communicate with clients
- Identify gaps or breakdowns in process and partner with leadership to improve
- Reinforce an environment where process is followed, not bypassed
Personnel Performance Management
- Directly manage a team of ~20 Implementation Consultants
- Set clear expectations for performance, quality, and client interaction standards
- Provide ongoing, actionable coaching and feedback
- Monitor individual and team performance and take action where needed
- Address underperformance quickly and directly
- Identify and leverage top performers (complex work, mentoring, support)
- Partner with Enablement/QA on onboarding, training, and speed to productivity
- Build a culture of accountability, ownership and consistent execution
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in financial software implementation, ERP delivery, or consulting operations
- 3+ years of people management experience in a delivery or client‑facing environment
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial systems
- Proven ability to manage team‑based delivery of complex engagements
- Experience driving process adherence and quality at scale
- Availability to work U.S. hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing implementation or consulting teams in a global delivery model
- Familiarity with QuickBooks ecosystem
- Experience supporting mid‑market or enterprise clients
- Background in scaling teams in evolving or early‑stage programs
