Job summary

BNP Paribas Cardif Support in Porto is seeking an Operational Permanent Controller to join the OPC Watchtower Team. You will be part of an international control function ensuring reliable financial information and risk mitigation across countries, supporting financial closings, incidents and audit actions.

The role requires 3+ years in accounting/risk/internal control, a solid understanding of control frameworks, and fluency in English and Portuguese (French a plus).

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Management, Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
• 3+ years in Accounting, Risk, Internal Control, Audit or Compliance, preferably in Insurance.
• Understanding of internal control frameworks and operational risk management.
• Audit techniques, operational risk and compliance knowledge.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese (C1); French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support local OPCs on Risk Identification and Assessment.
• Control Execution and Monitoring of Countries’ control results and audit trails.
• Provide support and monitor Incidents and Event Management.
• Ensure recommendations from Auditors are implemented through local Action Plans.
• Create awareness about procedure updates and train local OPC teams.
• Participate in Governance and Reporting processes during financial closings.
• Assist local OPCs with internal control reporting tools (Beacon, Risk360).
