Job summary

Wire IT in Porto, Portugal, is seeking an OpenShift Specialist to join our hybrid team. You will manage OpenShift 4.x and Kubernetes environments, ensure cluster health, and drive automation and day-2 operations.

You will build and patch container images, implement CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, ArgoCD, and Helm, and participate in a weekly on-call rotation while delivering reliable, scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Strong experience administering OpenShift 4.x and/or Kubernetes.
• Experience with cluster updates, installations and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Day 2 operations, capacity planning, and change management.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation with Python and Ansible.
• Solid Git and Linux system administration skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters in production.
• Monitor cluster health, performance and reliability, implementing fixes as needed.
• Build, patch and manage container images with Dockerfiles and Red Hat images.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, ArgoCD and Helm.
• Develop operational dashboards and automated health checks; participate in on-call rotation.

Required skills:

• Strong experience administering and supporting OpenShift 4.x and/or Kubernetes environments.
• Experience monitoring cluster health, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring cluster performance and availability.
• Experience performing cluster updates, upgrades, and new OpenShift cluster installations.
• Knowledge of Day 2 operations, infrastructure maintenance, capacity planning, and change management.
• Experience with container image management, including building and patching images using Dockerfiles and Red Hat base images.
• Experience with Jenkins pipelines for image build automation.
• Knowledge of ArgoCD and Helm for application deployment and management.
• Experience with Grafana and Prometheus for monitoring and observability.
• Experience with Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (RHACM).
• Proficiency in automation using Ansible and scripting with Python.
• Solid understanding of Git and version control.
• Strong Linux system administration skills.
• Experience integrating infrastructure applications into operational processes.
• Ability to develop and improve operational dashboards, monitoring controls, and automated health checks.
• Experience handling support tickets, troubleshooting incidents, and implementing corrective actions.
• Availability to participate in a weekly on-call rotation.
