A technology company in Porto is seeking an OpenShift Engineer to administer and manage on-premises OpenShift clusters. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in systems administration or DevOps, strong background in Linux systems, and hands-on experience with Kubernetes. We are looking for an OpenShift Engineer to join our team (Hybrid – Porto)

What you’ll do:

• Administer and operate on-premises OpenShift clusters;
• Manage a large-scale infrastructure with dozens of OpenShift clusters;
• Operate environments primarily based on physical infrastructure, with partially virtualized control plane nodes;
• Implement and maintain deployments using GitOps practices;
• Manage manifests and deployment pipelines using ArgoCD;
• Participate in planned maintenance activities, including occasional out-of-hours work for production environments;
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the platform and automation of processes;
• Collaborate closely with infrastructure and platform engineering teams.

What you will need to bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus);
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in systems administration, DevOps or platform engineering;
• Solid experience with Linux systems administration;
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and/or Red Hat OpenShift;
• Experience with containerized environments and cloud‑native platforms;
• Experience with GitOps practices and tools such as ArgoCD;
• Knowledge of on‑premises and hybrid infrastructure environments;
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently;
• Good communication skills and ability to work in cross‑functional teams;
• Fluent English (spoken and written – mandatory).
