Job summary

AIR Centre in Lisbon and Terceira is seeking a Policy Officer to support research, analysis and coordination across Blue Mission AA2030, Isla Bonita and AAORIA projects. You will translate complex evidence into policy outputs and engage with diverse stakeholders in international ocean governance and blue economy policy.

The role requires a relevant MSc/PhD, experience in EU-funded projects (Horizon Europe), strong English, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with precision.

Qualifications

• Relevant MSc or PhD in international relations, marine/environmental policy, law or related field.
• Experience with EU-funded R&I projects, especially Horizon Europe.
• Strong research, analytical and writing skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; Portuguese/ French/ Spanish valued.

Responsibilities

• Support research, synthesis and analysis across multiple ocean policy projects.
• Draft policy briefs, reports, presentations and stakeholder communications.
• Engage with governments, industry and civil society; prepare meetings and events.
• Monitor developments in international policy and regional governance.
• Lead project coordination, monitoring and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with scientists to translate findings into policy outputs.
